Yesterday I got a call from a company to arrange for an interview with me.
I did not send them my resume, and they got it from Monster.
So this guy called and ask me to go for a interview without even telling me the position that I am going to be interviewed for. He just mumbled the name of his company.
And so I asked.
He said, "Management Trainee".
I've receive enough calls from Prudential and AIA and other small private insurance company to know that the position management trainee here is referring to financial consultant/adviser.
Meaning to say, selling insurance and investment products.
And so i said: "Is it selling of financial product?"
Of course, he denied.
I think it wasn't inappropriate for me to ask: "Can you tell me more about the job?"
I have to know what job am i going to get interviewed for, at least.. RIGHT????
He gave me a super rude reply. "If like that, I might as well conduct the interview over the phone."
What kind of reply is this?
So I thought, maybe I should just agree for an interview and see what is it about.
He gave me the address of this office and time for the interview.
As what a normal person would do, I ask for his company's name again since I did not catch it the first time.
and he said. Fin-exis
I ask for the nature of the business. He told me "banking and finance"
Cool.
I went online to check out this company to find that its actually a insurance company.
DIDN'T I MENTIONED TO HIM EARLIER THAT
I DO NOT WANT TO SELL FINANCIAL PRODUCT. AND IF IT IS, I AM NOT INTERESTED.!!!
This fucker here, still insist that its not selling financial product.
So I decided not to go for the interview.
After a night of alcohol, I happily sleep my way through and forget to inform them that I am not going for the interview.
Yes. My fault.
And so this Michael guy from Fin-exis call me again at 4.15pm (the interview was scheduled at 4pm) to confirm with me again that our interview is at 4pm.
So I said, " Oh. I've decided not to go for the interview. I'm not interested."
There was silence for about 2.3 seconds.
He replied in a very stern manner, " Then don't you think that you should call and inform me?"
Excuse me.. why did he talk to me as if he is my father?
In the first place, I'm already not happy with him for 'snooking' me by not telling me more about the job and said that if that is the case, den he might as well conduct interview over the phone. This is not the right way to talk to a candidate what!!!
I apologized for not informing. (Well at least I have the god damn courtesy to apologize cause I know its my fault).
And guess what?
He hang up on me IMMEDIATELY without saying anything.!!
How rude is this guy.
arghhh......
